Around Thanksgiving time, I often like to think back about things I’ve learned in the corporate arena… the things that have grown me and helped me to develop to become the professional I am today.
I’ve found that when I focus on gratitude for the lessons, I start to become more thankful for the people who were otherwise jerks (and other colorful words ?) because of them I was able to grow so much more.
For example, thanks
to the people who bullied me at work. Because of them bullying me, I’m a MUCH BETTER career coach today. I learned how to be resilient, how to stand up for myself, and how to communicate better. So, I am grateful that at one point they tried to crush my soul because I am truly stronger… oh, and I sincerely hope that they are having a good Thanksgiving weekend.
What are you thankful for in your work experience that otherwise could be considered really awful?
