Yes, there are A LOT of women I could mention on International Women’s Day, but my heart is being drawn to thoughts about my daughter…

Some important things that this 8yo has taught me so far:

πŸ’ƒΒ S – silly dance moves make everything better. Seriously. The next time you’re having a bad day, just bust out some ridiculous dance moves.

🎨 A – art time is always time well spent. There is something remarkable that happens when you slow down and get creative.

🌳 R – roving around outside with no agenda. Exploring nature might mean dirtier clothes and body parts, but dirt builds a stronger immune system.

πŸ’–Β A – appreciation for the small things. Hearing what she’s grateful for each day helps me to see the world differently.

🏑 H – home is where the heart is. I’m eternally grateful for Sarah in my family… she adds a level of awesomeness to our home!

While I may be curious to see what kind of woman she’ll be one day, I’m doing my best to enjoy her today.

One thing I’ve also come to know as a mom is learning self-compassion as well as compassion for others. I have no doubt that being a mom helped me in the writing of Call for Compassion.

And, THANK YOU to the many, many women in my life who help me to be a better woman and a better mama to this 8yo marvel!

Happy International Woman’s Day!
